SEOUL, July 9 (Korea Bizwire)Samsung SDS Co., an IT service unit of Samsung Group, has launched a web-based ‘paperless’ service that uses blockchain technology to prevent document forgery.

Without the need for separate system setup, the service enables safe management of various documents, including contracts, consent agreements and certificates, through a connection with the company’s standard application programming interface (API) function.

The company encrypts data such as large-capacity documents and sensitive personal information on a dedicated server and records only the hash values for such documents and data in the blockchain system.

The document’s history is recorded in the blockchain system in real time, thereby guaranteeing the integrity and transparency of the data.

Samsung SDS has made use of the new service in various areas, including annual contracts for employees, in-house voting and certificate management.
